Week 2, Blog Assignment 2

Below are two links that contain information related to the brain and learning.

This website provides easily accessible information about how the brain works and how people learn. The authors present information on how many discoveries are being made in area of the how the brain works. These discoveries include a look at  topics like anguage, memory, and behavior. I believe this information can provide practical tools for teaching, learning and other aspects of daily life.

This website contains an article printed in the Phi Delta Kappan International Journal.The article discusses how "it has been more than 20 years since it was first suggested that there could be connections between brain function and educational practice." Jensen (2008) encourages educators seriously consider the relevant knowledge regarding brain-based learning from a variety of scientific disciplines, rather than just viewing it from psychological viewpoint or neuroscience viewpoint alone.

I have identified three blogs that I believe have relevant content related to the field of instructional design. All three sites allow readers to make posts.

Title:  Instructional Design and Development Blog
Overview:  This instructional design blog is maintained by staff and students in the Instructional Design and Development department at DePaul University. The developers of the site intended for it to provide information that can be used to enhance instruction through the use of technology. This blog is useful for the information it provides on instructional design conferences, hardware and pedagogy.

Title:  Making Change: Ideas for Lively Elearning
Overview: The author, Cathey Moore, uses this blog to provide practical ideas that will help create lively, powerful elearning for adults in the business world. The category of posts include elearning examples, graphics, project management and comics. It is useful

Title: IDEAS: Instructional Design for Elearning Approaches
Overview: This blog site is hosted by Ferdinand Kraus. It provides reflections and insights on elearning strategies and instructional technology design. The categories of posts include teaching online, faculty development, and elearning delivery strategies. It is useful in that it includes a search function to assist with locating specific blog topics.
